Hello
We have a CME4.1 into which we want to register 7945 and 7965 Cisco IP Phones. We downloaded and extracted the necessary .tar file into the router flash but it doesnt work.Is it enough to just extract this particular file or do I need to do copy some other files to make it support the respective phones!!!

Hi
There are a couple of steps,
1. extract the tar to the flash.
2. Share the files using the TFTP server statements.
3. Set the load statement under the telephony-service section of the config.
Have you completed these steps?
If your existing CME 4.1 router includes the firmware for the existing phones, the process should be the same.
If not let us know and i'll share the commands.

Cheers.

I completed those steps. When I tried with the "load" command, for the desired phone type, it was not recognized as a valid command because the phone type is not recognized.Could you share the commands!!!!

Hi,
If the load command doesn't recognise the 7965 as a phone you may have an older version of IOS even though still CME 4.1
