Configuring Exchange 2010 for Unity Connection 9.x question

HI, I'm at the step where I'm creating a UM Service to access Exchange from UC.  It asks to decide which options to select Message Action for Email.  I'm wondering the difference between Relay and Accept?  I understand Relay will need a smarthost setup, but i wonder when you use one over the other?  We have Exchange 2010 sp3 RU4, and i've installed the latest UC 9.1.2.  I'm currently using Unity 8.x so i'll be doing a Flash cutover soon using COBRAS tool.

Thank you.

Hi Robyn,

This doc explains the settings for you:

Jump down to "Message Action for Email" section

Hope that helps,

Brad

So for Single Inbox setup, is Relay the better option?

Yeah, that's the most common since users don't usually prefer email sitting in their voicemail box on Unity Connection.

You should select Relay but if you setup a recipient policy in Exchange to alias with the SMTP domain name of the CUC node/cluster then you'll find that's likely all you need.  There are some caveats on that depending on the environment but take a look here:

Brad - whats up old friend?
