Connect to directory handlers

This is going to be an odd question but I took the Unity class over a year ago so I am bit rusty. I have a new unity install and they would like to do a basic AA. I know that Unity can do this but what I am having problems with is how do I get Unity to send the calls to the directory handler? Do I need to use a CTI route point or do I need to take a few of the VMports out of their hunt group and do it this way? I have it working by taking a port out of the hunt group and changing the call routing rule to send that number to the default directory handler but is that the correct way?

You probably don't want to take the port out of the hunt. This would cause problems if they wanted to use failover and really isn't necessary.

You do have a couple options...

CFA a CTI route point and then use a call routing rule to route anything forwarded from that extension to the directory handler -- or slap and extension on directory handler and skip the call routing rule.

Or you can have callers hit a normal call handler and give them the option to enter a number (like 4) to get to the directory handler. You can also record the greating telling them that they can enter an extension during the greeting if you want that functionality. This is how most every company does it.

Hope this helps...

Thanks,
