CUCM 10.5 initial setup =Unable to update software=

Hi Experts,

I'm a newbie on UC, so please allow me to ask basic questions here.

I've just installed CUCM on a server in our laboratory to prepare for test environment for a project, which is implementing IPT in Japan office for our client. (They have CUCM running in their HQ office in EU). Now I'm able to access the CUCM in our laboratory via browser.

What I need to do now is completing initial set-up as below.

#1, Uploading locale file

#2, Uploading patch

#3, Applying evaluation license

I started working on #1 from steps below, however, uploading these files are not working.

Navigation->Cisco Unified OS Administration->Software Upgrade->Install/Upgrade->Software Location, where I put all ftp information.

However the error message "No valid options were found" showed up and it doesn7t work. The directory, IP address and everything of FTP setting seem fine.

According to the error message, I think this is not FTP problem. So are the files I'm trying to upload wrong?

I downloaded "cm-locale-ja_JP-10.5.2.2000-1.cop.sgn" for #1, and "cmterm-devicepack10.5.2.13042-1.cop.sgn" for #2 from Cisco site.

Please advise how to solve this issue.

Thanks you,

Mayumi

I would think it's actually that you failed to configure the proper settings in either the TFTP, and/or pointing to the wrong directory in the upgrade page from CUCM.

The names of the files seem correct, and you should not need anything else to install them. Assuming you installed 10.5(2), which should be the case, according to the files you want to install.

Post images of your config in CUCM, and I really cannot tell you how to configure your TFTP server to work, that would be up to you, and the SW you're using. Very common mistake is to mis configure the root folder and point somewhere else, with no valid files.

To install a license, simply type your server IP on a browser and choose Cisco Prime License Manager, how to install, will depend on how you got the license file, and if the server has access to internet, or not.

Hi Jaime,

Thank you so much for your quick response!

I just double-checked the FTP setting, but it seems fine.

I've uploaded the related screenshots(including the config in CUCM) on initial entry as attachment.

And yes, CUCM version is 10.5(2). (It says "Active Version  10.5.2.10000-5")

Hi Jaime,

I've just reboot my laptop and re-upload these files again, then it did work! (I didn't change any setting)

Probably something wrong was going on my FTP. Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you,

Mayumi
