I have a question about cucm ver 10 and 11 hardware compatibility.
On the supported servers list I don't see any x's for hardware of CUCM ver 10, is it only supported virtually?

Correct, plenty of apps on 10.x+ are only supported over ESXi, head to the virtualization wiki for requirements.
