Hi,
There are several SUs for both CUCM and IM&P, and Cisco docs seems to be saying that any CUCM 10.5.(2) are compatible with any IM&P 10.5(2).
Currently running CUCM 10.5.2.10000-5 and IM&P 10.5.2.10000-9 with no problems.
I would like to patch IM&P to 10.5.2.21900-4 because of a memory leak bug (CSCut16613), but I'm not sure if this requires a CUCM upgrade as well.
There are no matching SUs for CUCM and IM&P with patch number 21900-X.
Anyone knows of any rules for matching patch numbers in 10.5.2 for CUCM & IM&P ??
Thanks,
Eric

Most releases you only need to match at the x.y level for compatibility, 10.5(2) is a special case, as you need to match x.y(z) level on CUCM and IM&P, but beyond that, as long as they're a 10.5(2) releases, they're compatible.

From past experience, you do not need to have everything on the same release patch.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/matrix/10_x/CUCM_BK_CD1DB914_00_compat_matrix.pdf
The above link explains that the major release must match and doesn't indicate that the minor releases for patching affects anything. Again, this has been my experience over the years as well.
