CUEAC Invalid Destination with prefixed numbers blind transfer

Hi all,

We have a certain range of mobile numbers which when we dial a certain prefix in front of them, the calls are cheaper. On CUCM we have this set as a route pattern so users can just dial the mobile number and the CUCM automatically prefixes the code:

9.077.....

Strip PreDot

Prefix

9111077....

etc

This works fine for users, but we have ran into problems using this with CUEAC. The operator hs a number of speed dials to numbers within this range and when trying to perform a blind transfer to these numbers gets the message "Invalid destination". She can dial these numbers directly and it also works if she performs a consult transfer,

In the CUEAC Admin, check the configuration under User Configuration --> General Properties and the External access number. I would guess you have a 9 in there and therefore when trying to perform a blind transfer to 077.. we are adding a 9 to it and so it the CUCM and therefore trying to dial 9911077 or not matching the rule at all.

You would need to remove the 9 from the CUEAC config CUEAC does not add it but CUCM does.

Hi Jamie,

I don't think this is the problem. The CUEAC is indeed adding a 9 for all outgoing calls, but this is required. Call flow is as follows:

  • Operator dails 077......
  • CUEAC prefixes 9, sends 9077... to CUCM
  • Matches 9.077! route pattern
  • CUCM strips 9 and prefixes 9111 and sends it to the gateway as 9111077...
  • Gateway matches 9T dialpeer, strips 9, sends the call out as 111077....

This works for all normal users and when the operator dials the number directly. The operator also has a number of speed dials on CUEAC starting 077... so when dialling directly to them, or when performing a consult transfer to them it works. Only when trying to blind transfer to one of these numbers do we get the "Invalid Destination" message.
