We have a rollout of CUPC 1.22 with CUPS 6.02 and all is ok except for 3 laptops -when we install the client on these 3 laptops it allows the install unitil we try and open CUPC and login - it states CUPC has encountere a problem and then just closes the application. The spec of the laptops if it helps is:
*Manufacture and model DELL LATIUDE D820
*operating platform i.e. Windows xp
*processor INTEL (2) CORE (TM)2 CPU
*service pack 2
*What happens when CUPS is installed CUPC has encountered a problem and needs to close
Anyone had similar issues? cheers Jeff

You might want to check to see if the Dell Laptop has the Embassy Suite by Trust Wave installed on the laptop. Look in the Add/Remove Programs to see if it is installed. It's a big program, about 205mb.
If it is installed, remove it. It will crash the Cisco Presence client continually until you remove it. The Presence client will work fine after removing it.
Hope this helps

Hi Chad,
thanks for the reply, not checked yet but will let you know outcome. Any idea what that Embassy suite does, and would it be ok to install it again after we have installed CUPC - incase customer needs it?

Yeah, this is a Dell OEM Security Software from Trust Wave for things like the finger print scanner for logging into your computer. The software is horrible and would remove it from any PC. It also crashes with IE7 and numerous other applications...
If you buy a new Dell Laptop, make sure that the Embassy software is one of the first things you remove. It takes a long time to uninstall, but well worth the wait.
