Hello all,
We're going to deploy a UC8.5 cluster with CUC & CUPS.
Can we have computers in a AD domain testA.domainA and others in an other AD domain testB.domainB ?
There is no real links between the two domains.
It is a mandatory requirement for the company but we only have one CUPS 8.5 server.
The goal is to deploy CUPC for all the users whatever AD domain they are attached.
Is there a solution / workaround for this ?
In my understanding Federation is for 2 domains but with 2 different CUPS server ?
Do the computer need to be ine the same domain that the AD or CUPS server ?
Thanks for your help

Hi,
A single CUP cannot 'home' users from multiple AD domains.
CUP will append the network domain to the userID to make its JID (or SIP URI depending on what you are communcating with), e.g. userA@domain.com.
For your scenario, you will need federation between multiple AD domains (2 CUP clusters are need for this, as you said)

Hello,
Thanks for your answer Paul.
That's unfortunately what I thought.
But can you please precise this :
1 - Does it mean that a computer that is not in the AD domain can not use the CUPC 8.5 ?
We have some users in this situation and it would be a problem.
- Could it work with a referenbce to a CUPS server by the IP address and not the domain name ?
2 - Is there any way to make this work with only one server even if it is not supported ?
We're talking about very little number of person that are in the second domain.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
