Hello, I am looking for help with a custom auto attendant script.
Cisco 2900 (15.4)
CME 10.5
CUE 8.6.9
All internal user extensions are 3 digits starting with 1
Prompt Management ext is set to 505
Auto Attendant number is set to 555
We are looking to setup something like the following:
“Thank you for calling (Company name). If you know your party’s extension, you may dial it any time. For our Company directory, please press 2.” (caller could type in extension 1XX at anytime during the greeting)
When the user presses 2: "you have reached our Company Directory. Type in the first few letters of the person’s first OR last name."
Once you type in the letters, a recording will say “Name, extension #”. For example, the recording will say “Rick Smith, extension 104. If this is correct, press 1. If not press 2.”
Can the dial by name function of CUE find a user by searching the first 3 letters or so of a first name or last name? The built in default AA we are currently using currently only finds a user if you spell out the full first AND last name… so in the example above, you have to type out the whole string of “ricksmith” to be transferred to 104… otherwise it says user is not found. We want the caller to be able to just type “ric” or “smi” and the system suggest Rick Smith at 104 as a suggestion.
Thanks!
