CWMS 1.1.1.9A to 2.5 ,

Hi Experts ,

CWMS quit new to me .

We are going to upgrade the CWMS 1.1.1.9A to 2.5 ,It document it says there is direct upgrade .first need to update 1.5MR4 then upgrade to 2.5

Can you please explain whether i can directly upgrade or install CWMS 2.5 seperately and install the license from old

Hi Nishad,

You will need to follow the path documented in the upgrade guide:

To upgrade from 1.1 to 2.5 version as you are aware you need to first update to an intermediate version which is either 1.5MR4 or 1.5MR5.

Follow guidelines to update to 1.5MR4

Once the system is running 1.5MR4 or above you will need to upgrade the system to 2.5 version.

Update procedure overview
* Does not redeploy the system
* Requires an ISO file
* Used for updating to Minor Releases, Maintenance Releases, Patches, or Hotfixes
* Can use VMware Snapshots

Upgrade procedure overview
* Redeploys the system
* Requires an OVA file (which is about 10 GB)
* Used for upgrading to Major Releases
* Cannot use VMware Snapshots

Hi Nishad,
It is not documented anywhere so i would say it is not a supported method.
