Direct upgrade from CUCM 8.5 -MCS to CUCM 11.5 -BE6000H

Hi all,

i'm going to provide a BOM to a customer. My goal is keep costs as low as possible. My upgrade will be direct: switch MCS off and register phone to cucm 11.5 be6k. I want to recover all installed DLU, and 79xx ip phone.

Here what is in field:

- two MCS 7800 (pub+sub CUCM 8.5)

- a number of used DLU, about 100

- cisco ip phone 79xx (also 7912, as i can see firmware will not provided under cucm 11.5 so i'll replace them with 7811).

- 150 MIG-CUCM-USR-A in Active state

I'm trying to set up a BOM:

- two BE6M-M4-K9=

- a number of 7811s because i have to replace 7912. Is it correct, or 7912 will register and work fine under 11.5?

- I want to convert DLU to UCL Enhanced. I used the license count tool and i can see i can register all phones without buying new licenses, but i need to convert all DLU to UCL. How can i accomplish this considering i have 150 MIG-CUCM-USR-A in Active state?

You only have two options, either you use PCD to migrate the servers, or you install 8.5 on UCS, restore a DRS on them, and then manually upgrade.
