How to install Informix ODBC driver 64-Bit ?

Hi all,

I am trying to install ODBC driver IBM Informix 64-Bit on a Windows 2012 R2 server but it is unsuccessfull...

Once I installed it, if I go to ODBC 64-Bit there is only SQL Server as a driver...

But if I go to ODBC 32-Bit it is here... But I need it on 64-Bit...!

First I tried to modify the variable PATH and add the folder SysWOW64 then I uninstalled it and tried to install it without the PATH modified, same issue, still present in 32-Bit ODBC in both cases...

Could you please help me with that ?

If you downloaded the driver from ciscoUnityTools.com that's the 32 bit driver - this is needed since all tools for Unity Connection are built for 32 bit. If you wish to install the 64 bit SDK driver you'll need to download the 64 bit version from IBM, it's not something we can provide - we had to get special permission from IBM to post the 32 bit version for download.

If you downloaded the Informix SDK install from CiscoUnityTools.com that's a 32 bit driver only - all tools written for Connection are built for 32 bit and require the 32 bit driver regardless of if the platform is 32 or 64 bit.  We had to get special permission from IBM to post this.

If you want a 64 bit version for whatever reason you will need to obtain the 64 bit installer from IBM for that, it's not something I can post.

Also, the SYSWow64 variable is specifically for installing a 32 bit driver on a 64 bit platform - not what you want.  Also, it's not necessary to do that any longer with a recent version of IBM's installer for 32 bit drivers, they finally fixed that.

Yes then I learned that it is not necessary now (for the SYSWow64).

How can I obtain the 64 bit version ? Who can provide it to me, IBM support ? And why do we need "special" permission, do you know?

It should be free from IBM - I don't have a link that works any longer but you want the Informix Client SDK - they used to have a download page with all versions on it, but I don't see it any more so you'll probably have to contact their support folks.

We had to get permission to post a version folks can download from my site - they generally don't want that, they want folks registering with IBM and getting it from them.
