Hello Folks,
I have a scenario where I have an 11.x CUCM/IMP cluster and a 10.x CUCM/IMP cluster moving into the same domain. We would like to do IM&P intercluster peering to allow users of each cluster to see presence of users in the other cluster, as well as the ability to IM between clusters.
My question is around version compatibility...I have scoured through the guides and documents and have only found one mention of version:
IM Address Scheme for Intercluster Deployments
For intercluster deployments, all nodes in each of the clusters must use the same IM address scheme. If any node in a cluster is running a version of IM and Presence Service that is earlier than Release 10, all nodes must be set to use the UserID@Default_Domain IM address scheme for backward compatibility.
Will this configuration work between 10 and 11, or do we need to have the same major number versions?
Thanks all!
Joe

It will work fine. I have a customer with 3 clusters, one of them I upgraded to 11.5 and the other 2 are still 10.5, and inter-clustering between IM&P still works great ;)
