I am running IM&P with 2 nodes in Active Passive HA. Users are only assigned to the active node and the passive node is used during maintenance and if there were to be a failure with the Active node.
We have had persistent chat configured for several years and I noticed during my last maintenance cycle that Chat Rooms were not available when the primary/Active node was failed over. The chat rooms are created on the primary/active node by default. The persistent chat was setup per configuration guides that state you need a separate database assignment for each node in the cluster. So I have a 2 databases, one assigned to each node. However, the passive node has no chat rooms.
Can I assign the same database to each node in this type of scenario? This way when I failover to the passive node, we can still access existing chat rooms? It seems this should be possible.
