Hey folks.
I'm aware there is little Unity functionality when in SRST mode, but out of interest what happens to license pooling while a site is in SRST mode?
Cheers,

Unity doesn't use pooled license in real time. Each server writes licenses they have fir users and Cisco Unity Inbox and the count they are using to their location object in the directory. They all replicate in the licenses other servers are contributing to the pool and their utilization and then each calculate what they believe the licensing utilization to be. That calculated data is all stored in the systemstate table in SQL.
If for some reason the licensing data on the location object hasn't been updated in 60 days Unity will drop it from the pool. So unless the WAN is down for 60 days or your pool is super tight on user licenses to the point where you try to free up a license while the WAN is down, you probably won't ever notice.
Make sense? My pretty diagram in chapter 12 of the Cisco Unity Deployment and Solutions Guide might help to make sense of license pooling. :-)
Thanks,
Keith

Gotcha. Yep, ur diagram makes it all clear (I'm working my way through the book)!
As a side. If a site already has say a license for 300 UM users with license pooling enabled. Then they bring another site online, but don't elect to order a Unity bundle, do they still have to order a minimum of a 50 user license for Unity?
They don't need another 50 Unity subs yet, but I don't seem to be able to order the Unity sware on the config tool without at least a 50 user UM license.
