Meet Me and Media Resources

Hi Everyone,

Assuming we have sufficient conference media resource (dedicated SW conference bridge up to 128 streams) and Maximum MeetMe Conference Unicast parameter is set to 64.

Upon creation of a Meet-Me conference;

• Will the system reserve 64 streams? Hence, there will only be 64 streams available for another conference?
• Or, the system will only reserve 3 streams and allows up to 64 participants as long as media resource is available?

Ryan,

Meet me meetings are just like ad-hoc conferences.  With the ability to chain conferences together ( via the Advanced Conferencing Features service Parameter), you can create smaller conference bridges (like 4, 6 or 8) that can be bridged together when needed.  So if you set the max conf participants, then that will not allocate all resources at one time, but will cap the conference at the largest number of users.
