Last week I placed an order for our MeetingPlace upgrade because I was told it was shipping 8.5. However today I get an email stating that it's on new product hold until October 11. Seriously???? Has anyone actually seen MP 8.5 or is it vaporware?

I ordered an 8.x upgrade and expected to get the 8.5 software but got an 8.0 instead. Can see that you can download an update for the application server (8.5.2) but don't see any update for the webEx node, so I'm also fighting to get the software....

Yes there has been lots of confussion here. You will need to get the 8.5 DVD since the OS has changed from 8.0 and requires a new install. The 8.5.2 is only an upgrade to 8.5 and cannot be used to upgrade 8.0 to 8.5. Once you get 8.5 installed I strongly advise upgrading to 8.5.2 before you do any testing.

I just tried to order MP8X-WB-MCS-K9-UP= & MP8X-AV-SVR-K9-UP= through PUT and am told that it is on new product hold? What gives? We are anxious to get MP 8.5 up and running. Whats happening?

I even opend a Tac case to be sure that the software wasn't on hold. Tac told that it was released and that it should be ordered in put – so I did that........ just received the 8.0 software AGAIN. I give up.

Hello Raj,
When I use the PUT tool, I see MP8x-AV-SVR-K9-UP=
How do I know if I 8.0 or 8.5 will ship? Can I call someone to correct it now before it ships?
Thank You

Hi
I ordered MP8X-AV-SVR-K9-UP= and I recieved version 8.5.2 (much better than 8.0!!)
Once you have the SO# then just email licensing@cisco.com and they will send you the license. The convert licenses at 20:1. so my customer had 96 port licenses on 6.0 which went to 1920 ports on 8.5.2. Very nice!
Also recommend ordering the webex-node lic if you don't have it since it will be charged soon, even if you don't need it right now...
hope this helps...

Also just a FYI, the WebEx Node is actually not recommended anymore starting with 8.5 due to limitations around support of HQ video for internal meetings and lack of recording also for internal meetings. Cisco recommends not selling it for these reasons. So getting the license may not that be that useful in the long run

I agree but you can still record meetings help on the WebEx Node. The difference is that the recording is on the Moderators PC an not in the cloud. This requires you to either send out the recording to participants or place it somewhere where participants can retreive it.
