Move from Unity 4.2(1) to connection 8.6

Hi,

Since we cannot buy anymore licences for unity we are moving to unity connection. Ive been trawling through the documentation on how the migration is done but it got me thinking.

The company that setup our unity origionally did so in standalone i.e. own AD, exchange and unity on one box. Lots of the documentation ive read assumes AD integrations etc so i thought, if i dont care about migrating the messages, would it not be easier to BAT the users into Unity CTN rather than migrate? The old setup doesnt have any email or user info relating to AD credentials. To simplify things more we will not reuse the HW, the unity CTN will go on UCS

Cheers

Jon

Hi Jon,

UC doesn't require AD integration/authentication - it's optional.  To get your data from Unity to UC in the quickest and easiest way, you'll want to use COBRAS which was designed for this move:

Hope that helps,

Brad
