Hi,
Customer has multiple AD forests and is looking to deploy unity unified messaging.
what is the best Unity networking solution - SMTP or VPIM, to enable inter forest messaging?
Reading the network/design guides both will do the job but are there any advantages/disadvantages for either protocol?
Thanks

You should go with VPIM since SMTP networking is going to be removed in 4.0(5):

We are removing SMTP because it is proprietary where VPIM is not and we plan to build on top of VPIM to add directory synch capabilities, etc.
Thanks,
Keith
