I am trying to create a new VM profile so that I can send calls from CUE Autoattendant via CUCM 8.6 to a group VM box on Unity Connection. The standard global (default) VM already exists on 800010000/CSS_Voicemail.
I have created a new VM profile Test_VM on a new VM Pilot 5551011828/CSS_Voicemail and changed the lines on the phones to have Test_VM as their VM profile.
When I press messages button on the phone, I get reorder/fast busy tone, and also if I ring 5551011828 from the phones. I think I am missing some configuration here maybe?
Thanks

Hi there,
A couple of things.....
When you are using the VM Profile config you usually use the VM Pilot
area to route to the appropriate VM system. If you already have the VM Pilot
for Unity Connection set up as 800010000, I'm not sure why you would want/need
to create a new one. The new VM profile is really used to mask the DN when a call
forwards from various numbers and routes them to the specified Voice mailbox Mask number
mailbox.
So let's say we want calls that route from 888811111, 888811122 & 888811133 to all
end up in the group mailbox that is set up under 888844444. Then the VM profile
that would be created for 888811111, 888811122 & 888811133 could be called XXXX
transfer_group with the standard Pilot for Unity Connection and a mask of
88884444
Cheers!
Rob
PS: also noticed that the two numbers referenced above for Pilot numbers
have a different number of digits (9 vs 10)

Thanks Rob
That would be true if I was forwarding on busy or no answer from the phones - but I need to send a call directly from AA to their group VM box. I have a script on CUE AA that says Press 2 to send a VM (to group). For this, I believe that I need to set up a new VM pilot as I need a destination for my Call Redirect in AA. I could possibly set up a new DN with a CFWDALL - but that is a bit messy and more of a workround.
The required call routing is - phones all ring (broadcast hunt group) for 30s, then forward to AA. AA script is Press 1 to send call back to phones to ring for 30s again (like a requeue), Press 2 to forward to their shared VM box, or Press 3 to go to an escallation phone destination.
Thanks

Hi Brian,
Ok, I see where you're going here
What DN number is the Group mailbox under? Do you want the user
members of this group to receive a MWI lamp when a message is left?
Do the user members also have a personal mailbox? What model of
phones are they using? Do they have any spare keys?
Hahahaha! I know, too many questions and no answers
I think using a CTI-RP would be a cleaner method to route the calls
from the CUE AA Press 2 to Unity Connection. Define a DN as the new CTI-RP
with Call Forward All to Unity Connection. Use this same number for the
Group Mailbox as well. Try that as a starting point.
Cheers!
Rob
