I've heard the rumors that the next major version of Unity will be running on Linux. Is this true?

I am not the authority but I don't think that is true. Unity relies heavily on Active Directory so I don't hink that is possible at this time. Now what you may have heard was a bit of misinformation. The next version of Call Manager is slated to have an option to run on some flavor of Linux. I think the Windows OS will stil be an option though.
Hope this helps

We can't talk about uncommitted future versions of product, of course, but speaking for the next committed versions of Unity being worked on today, they are Windows based systems.
