Presence And Lync Federation Options

Hi Guys

   I have a customer that is using  Cisco presence version 9.1.1 and they also have MS Lync 2013. They servers resides in the same DC with no Firewall in between. They are looking to federate these two applications. Can anyone please tell me if both XMPP and SIP federation are supported or SIP is the only option. When i read documentation for XMPP it says the following applications are only supported and MS Lync is not one of them.

The IM and Presence Service, Release 9.0 and later supports XMPP federation with the following enterprises:

  • Cisco WebEx Messenger Release 7.x

  • IBM Sametime Release 8.2 and 8.5

  • Cisco Unified Presence Release 8.x

  • IM and Presence Release 9.x or greater
