Problems with SIP Trunk (one way audio)

ev1205

Hi everyone !

Our client is testing a new SIP trunk implementation with a different ISP.

They have a SIP trunk between a Cisco 2911 and ISP for PSTN accesss, and a H323 Trunk between CUCM ver 7.1.3.30000-1 for proper call routing to that Cisco2911 gateway.

Here you have Cisco 2911 configuration:

=====================

Well we can establish incoming and outgoing calls without any problem during this testing stage, but we only get incoming voice.

We did not get outgoing voice to Voice Gateway.

We checked with ISP, and we see RTP traffic from ISP to Cisco 2911Voice Gateway, but we did not see any RTP packets from Voice Gateway to ISP.

As a matter of fact, we did not see any RTP packets arriving to Voice gateway from internal network.

Could be a routing problem???

Do Internal CUCM and Ip Phones require  routing access to ISP's SIP server? As I understood internal devices only need to know how to arrive to Cisco2911 Voice gateway, so it can work as a Proxy and route traffic towards SIP server???

Thank you

Hello Antra !

Thank you for your comment

I added your recommendations, but the problem is similar.

SIP trunk with ISP is OK, H323 trunk between my voice gateway and CUCM is OK, calls are establihsed (incoming and outgoing), but all rtp traffic from Internal Ip Phones is going to an other voice gateway (it has an old SIP trunk to different ISP).

Best Regards

Ev,

that's weird.

1. Check if there are route-map access-list somewhere in your routing network.

2. Where is this "old sip trunk to the another ISP" configured? in the CUCM?

Check if the same route pattern (translation pattern, ...) goes also to this old ISP. If Yest then remove the route pattern change its destination to the 2911.

Regards,

Antra

Hi Antra !!

There is not any route-map or access-list preventing traffic from/to my voicegateway.

The "old sip trunk to another ISP" is on another voice gateway, as a matter of fact this is currently my client's Voice

Gateway ( but they are planning to replace it with the new gateway).

As we are on testing stage, we are testing with a test-RP that is pointing to my phone number using the new gateway only.

But as you can see on debug files I attached to Chris Deren before, all rtp traffic from internal Ip Phone (192.168.5.37)  is going only to old voice gateway.( if you have problems to read this files , please let me know), so the voice from inside to PSTN is not working !!

Thanks a lot for your time checking my case.
