Getting this message only when updating a schedule on my Unity server via saweb remotely and at the console. Rebooted to no avail, deleted and re-built schedule, same problem. Unity 4.03 w/sr1, Exchange 2K, VMO. You make a change to the schedule, update, screeen changes, but after 5-10 seconds a dialog pops up and states" failed to commit changes" and gives the hex code 0x80004005. Funny thing, though, the schedule change works.
It's only occuring on schedules. Is this a problem?

It's a known issue.
CSCed71017 SA error displayed when saving changes - changes still saved
---------------------------------------
Symptom:
When the schedule is changed in SA and then saved, an error is displayed to
the user. The error is "Error hr=0x80004005: Failed to commit changes."
Condition:
This occurs when multiple saves are done in a row.
1) On the Configuration Settings page, modify the days for cleaning up log
files, save the changes, go to the Configuration Recordings page and modify
any setting and save.
2) Uncheck the observe holidays checkbox and save on the Schedule page.
3) When the schedule is changed in SA and then changed again without going to
another page, an error is displayed to the user.
Workaround:
Ignore the error, the change was committed.
