restart/shutdown operation appears to be stuck every time we perform a shutdown and restart of CUCM Application

Hi All,

After upgrading our CUCM from version 8.6 to 11.5, we always encounter the restart/shutdown appears to be stuck every time we perform shutdown/restart. We don't have a choice but to continue with the restart by choosing the yes when it prompted Would you like to force the restart. I think this is not a normal behavior. Right? I am worried with this kind of behavior that it might affect the database of CUCM Cluster. Do you have an idea on why we encounter this? Is there a way to identify the root cause for this and what would be its resolution? The exact version of our CUCM now is 11.5.1.12900-21. Thank you so much.

Hi,

Is this affecting only the VM's on a particular UCS server? Do you have CUCM or other UC VM's on a diff UCS that are part of the same cluster and not exeperiencing this error?

 

This is definitely not working as designed, you may need to engage TAC to check from Cisco side and probably VMware support as well if UC/UCS side of the troubleshooting is unable to find anything concrete.
