I just upgraded my Unity Connection system from version 7.1.3 to version 8.5.1, prior to running the upgrade I disabled all alerts in RTMT so I wouldn't get bombarded with emails. Now that I have finished the upgrade I installed RTMT version 8.7 and I went to re-enable the alerts and have discovered that there are no alert types listed in Alert Central, it allows me to remove the checkmark for disbaling the clusterwide alerts but it is not alerting on anything anymore. Has anyone come across this before?

Hi,
Does the issue remain the same after you un-install and re-install RTMT ?
Do you see alerts under Unity Connection tab ?
What options are available under System > Tools > Alerts > ?

It does remain after a RTMT re-install, I even installed it on a different machine with the same results.
There are no alerts listed under the Unity Connection tab either.
This is what I have under System->Tools->Alert
Thanks for any help you may have.

Hello,
If you configure a custom alert, does it show up ? ( i.e. is it persistant after log off / login ? )
Is this a stand alone server or Unity Connection cluster ? If it is a cluster, what happens when you connect to other server ?
If System and Unity Connection alerts does not show up, please enable the following traces
## On Unity Connection server
Cisco Unified Serviceability > Tools > configuration > Performance and Configuration > Cisco RTMT Web service
Trace on and level " debug "
## on RTMT client
Edit > Traces > debug
Now browse through the alert tabs couple of times and collect the logs
==>> RTMT client logsare located in C:\Documents and Settings\
==>> Server side logs can be downloaded via RTMT by selecting " Cisco RTMT Web service " component via RTMT
Please open a TAC SR via this forum link and upload the logs with approx date / time of the test event.
Also, include the exact option that you selected to disable alerts in RTMT before the upgrade.

This is a stand-alone server, not a member of a cluster.
If I configure a custom alert it does show up and is persistent through logoff/login.
I will open a TAC case.
I used "Disable Clusterwide Alerts" when I disabled the alerts pre-upgrade.

This issue has been reproduced by an IBM CCIE in a Lab Environment. Bug is being filed with Cisco TAC. Solution will be posted when available.

Here is the solution for anyone experiencing this issue. Be aware that this will delete any custom alerts you have configured and they will have to be re-created.
Use these steps and you should get your default alert options back. The
issue is just one with how many of the alert's files are installed after
the
upgrade. The platform developers are still looking into getting the bug
that
caused the issue resolved.
ssh to the publisher
run sql ccm delete from scratch where name like 'Ris%'
Go to "Cisco Unified Serviceability"
Tools -> control center - network services
restart "Cisco AMC Service"
After AMC service is restarted you should be able to launch RTMT and see
the
default alert settings.
