I have one user who complains that previously saved messages are being marked as new. I associated back to Unity reboot - when Unity did a mailbox resync it marked his old messages as new - ran report in Unity on his mailbox and saw it happen at same time as resync - marked 80 plus old messages as new one by one. Doesn't happen every time we reboot Unity. Also - do a MWI refreash every night and doesn't happen then either. Any ideas?

First I've heard anything like this...
Unity version? Exchange version and setup?
so it just happens for one guy?
Unity's doing filters to find mailbox content counts (i.e. new voice, unread voice etc...) - it's not opening all the messages or the like (that would take forever and a day). I have no clue what would be causing this by I'm a little skeptical Unity is actually marking thos messages as new after a reboot.

Sorry - forgot to include release info - Unity 3.1(5) with Exchange 2000 - SP3 - active active cluster. He is the only user of 500+ to complain and he stated it has happened to him around five times. I thought it might be related to mailbox sync when we reboot - that's when it happened last - but it doesn't happen everytime we reboot. Also - we do a MWI refresh every night so why wouldn't it happen every night? I ran a Unity subscriber activity report on his mailbox and saw that his 80+ voice mail messages were marked as new. Turned his light back on and moved them into the new voice stack. Messages were marked as unread in his outlook inbox. Also - the last time it happened we had to reboot twice that night - first time the resync went as usual - took around 15 or 20 minutes. Then the nightly 1:00 AM MWI refresh went off okay - took around 15 minutes again. It was after this refresh ended that the messages started getting marked as new. We had to reboot a second time and it took about one hour to resync - during which time I see Unity count up his 87 new messages. Do you think it could be something with all the resyncs going on that night or strictly an Exchange issue?

Rebooted Unity again last Saturday night and re-created the problem. Saved voice mail messages were marked as new - moved to saved Unity queue and marked as unread in Outlook.
