I intalled ESXi 5.0 with free license key, and I have all my phone servers on it. But now ran into 32 gb RAM limitation.
I have two questions:
1- In ESXi license configuration, it says "Up to 32 GB of memory" under Product features, Also under edit for that key, it says vRAM per CPU entitlement : 32 GB .
now, My product is licensed for 2 physical CPUs.
Being all this said, does this means that I have up to 64 GB memory since my product is licensed for 2 physical CPUs?
2 - In a seperate path, I worked with Cisco and got new unlimited license key for ESXi 5.0 . In order to use the maximum memory on my UCS server, should I just go ahead and apply new License key, and be good to go. Can I do this while VMs are running?
Thank you,

Yes, simply install the new license to get the new licensing scheme to work.

Jaime,
I apllied the license to my test ESXi, and what I see is :
Product Features:
Up to 8-way virtual SMP
vCenter agent for VMware host
vStorage APIs
VMsafe
Shared Smart Card Reader
here no more "up to 32 GB" for ram but when I go under edit, under product this is what I see:
Capacity : 2 CPUs
Available: 0 CPUs
vRAM per CPU entitlement: 32 GB
Can you please tell me how you explaine this.
Thank you,

This is regarding ESXi licensing, you can find a lot if you simply google "ESXi license 32 gb"
