We are running Cisco Unified Communications Manager v 8.6.2.22028-1 and Cisco Unity Connection v 8.5.1ES65.13900-65 and need to upgrade our Windows Active Directory to 2008R2 functional level.
Are there any compatibility issues between UCM 8.6 and/or UC 8.5 and AD 2008R2?

Thank you Jaime. I appreciate you taking the time to read my question and refer me to those pages.
However, I read those before posting this question. My apologies for not pointing that out. As I'm sure you've experienced, sometimes whether or not something is "supported" doesn't necessary tell you if the integration will work or fail -- only, whether you will get support for that integration.

It's supported and it will work.

That's great news. Thanks for the very fast reply!

In reading those documents I see: "R1 supported (32 bit only)". We are running 64-bit 2008R2. Is the "32-bit only" a reference to the AD platform or Cisco platform?

AD platform

Thanks again Jaime, I appreciate your quick responses.
So, if I upgrade our AD domain to 2008 R2, will this break the integration with my Cisco boxes or just preclude us from getting Cisco's help? If so, are there any workarounds or is the only option to upgrade Cisco?

We do not test any other scenario that is not mentioned in the docs, we cannot tell you if it will break, if it works with caveats, etc.
If you have any other mix besides the ones mentioned, it will not be supported by Cisco, that's for sure.
The only WA is to upgrade CUCM to a version that supports your AD environment.

OK. Thanks again for your help and quick replies!

Last question, promise. I've searched but can't find an answer to this.
What is the latest version of UCM that I can upgrade to without precipitating an upgrade of our UCCX v8.5.1.11000-32 or our UC v8.5.1.13900-5?
