UM and Microsoft AD design(peer to peer, parent child)

I am looking for info on Active Directory design(official and unoffical) with Unity UM. What options or issues are there to commmunicate accross AD forests that are set up as peer to peer and not parent child. The peer to peer relationship exists because the company is set up as a holding company and each business unit is stand alone and may be sold or spun off at a later date.

I heard that MS has a tool, but the Cisco solution is VPIM. Any info on either would be great.

Microsoft has a tool to replicate data between forests but it won't work for Unity. Your best option is VPIM networking. Over time we are planning to add functionality such as directory synchronization to make VPIM an easy to support networking protocol.
