External messages to Unity all OK, External users can leave messages to users via directory handler and name lookup fine.
However, if we press the messages button on the ip phone internally, press 2, then spell the name, you then hear that users recorded name, speak message, press # to send. We get a system prompt that says "No valid address was given" Selecting by extension number gives the same error.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Well, based on your description it sounds like you may be hitting this bug:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCed32773&Submit=Search
but there'd be errors in the application event log in that case. It also sounds like this bug:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCdy73808&Submit=Search
but that was fixed in earlier 4.0(x) lines.

Many thanks Jeff,
Last nights reboot has fixed the problem. It may have been bug CSCed32773, however there were no application event log entries regarding the GAL.
