Unity 4.0(5) install error MAPI version is not

MAPI version is not at least Version Exchange 2003 SP1.

This install error tells me that I do not have Exchange SP1 on the local machine. Why would I need that? My message store is a seperate EX 2003 SP1 box. The EX Management Tools were installed per guide instructions, but I still get this error.

Unity uses the same MAPI access interfaces the Outlook clients do - the management tools are our way into these - applying the SP updates these interfaces, which is why the SP is required.
