I have just upgraded from Unity 5. I notice now that when I play a message through the TUI and hangup (without deleting/saving) the new message notification does not disappear (meaning MWI and "You have voicemail" message remains). If I log back into the TUI, I will still get the "1 new message annoucement". If I play the message through VMO, then this works as expected (the MWI and display disappears).
If I view the message in Outlook after playing through TUI (MWI is still on as stated above), the message shows as unread in Outlook, (which matches the MWI status). However, in Unity 5, when I listened to the message through TUI, the message would be classed as read even if I didnt delete/save and just hungup.
This isn't "advanced settings" - "Conversation - Delay Mark As Read" as even if I change this setting, the MWI will still relight after I hangup. Is this a functionality change, or bug?

Hi there,
Here is an excellent thread that discuuses this change with nice answers from Jeff
and Christopher from Cisco and the change in 7.0((2)
"Cool. I forgot to speak to the action taken when you hang up during message playback (weather the message is saved or marked new).
This is configurable system wide in the Advanced Settings Tool. The option is "Conversation - Mark messages read upon hangup".
I'm not sure what version of Cisco Unity the setting became per subscriber, but in Cisco Unity 7.0(2) you set this per subscriber in the System Administrator under Subscriber --> Conversation. The setting is on the Conversation page under Message Playback options."

Excellent, thank you. That was the issue. I've modified the subscriber template and bulk-edited the existing subscribers and now behaves as desired.

Hi Nick,
For CUC try adjusting this setting (Save Message instead of Mark New) under the User or
User Template;
Playback Message Settings
| Save Message Mark Message New |
Cheers!
