We are seeing issues with unified messaging. Voicemails are getting delayed up to an hour or sometimes not arriving at all. Looking at the logs we are seeing request in the thousands, some times as high as 4800 requests. Our Unity Servers and Exchanges Servers are sitting in the same colo, pings between them are less than .3ms. We are seeing EWS response times vary between untiy and exchange, sometimes as high as 15 seconds. Looking ate the Unity 11.x design guide for unity and doing the calculations it suggests that we increase our connections to 9. Has anybody ran into this issue and what was the fix?
Design Notes:
For example, if your Unity Connection server has 2,000 users and 10 milliseconds of latency, and all of the mailboxes are homed on one Exchange or Office 365 server, you would not change the number of connections:
Number of connections = (2,000 * (10 + 15)) / 50,000 = 50,000 / 50,000 = 1 connection
(no change to the default value of four connections)
If your Unity Connection server has 2,000 single-inbox users and 100 milliseconds of latency, and all of the mailboxes are homed on one Exchange or Office 365 server, you would increase the number of connections to 5:
Number of connections = (2,000 * (100 + 15)) / 50,000 = 230,000 / 50,000 = 4.6 connections
