Hi ,
Having an issue configuring my AA. I've created the translation pattern to map the appropriate DID number to my Voice mail pilot (which greets users to the AA opening greeting).
Verified that the TP is working via debug isdn q931 command but when i try calling in from an external number (or internal number which is not tied to a Unity Connection user account) i'm greeted with an engaged tone (triple beeps).
Normal UC users whose extensions have been tagged to user accounts are able to reach and retrieve their voicemail via their menu.
Any ideas ? Besides translation patterns could there be anything mssing ?

Let's rule out the translation pattern first.
Use a CTI route point to route your caller to VM. The DID assigned as the one of the CTI route point lines will be your AA number and you'll apply the VM profile and forward all to VM on that line configuration just like a phone except CTI route point is for software applications.
Make sure the DID for the AA is assigned as the extension of the main menu AA in Unity Connection OR if you have routing rules instead that the rule is configured properly.
If you still have an issue, it could be something in CUCM but it may also be a setting related to Connection.

You can't translate directly to your VM pilot This creates an issue with redirected party settings. You need to remove your translation pattern and create a CTI Route Point with the DID as your extension and forward all to VM. This will play your Opening Greeting Call Handler, if you want a specific call handler to play, use the extension of your CTI Route Point as the extension of your call handler.

I'll give the CTI route point a shot.
Just seems weird , most of my installations , most extensions (or external calls) would be able to reach the greeting immeadietly without having to create the CTI. First time installation where this is needed.
Thanks for the answer guys.
