Hi Unity version 10, users LDAP synced.
Users telephone field in LDAP is e164 format.
we exported the users using bat tool , changed the telephone from e164 to 8 digit extension , then used the same csv file to import those users from LDAP. We now have LDAP synced users but with 8 digit extension. is that a valid way of doing this ?
Will an LDAP sync over write the telephone field back to E164 format ?
Also what's the affect on a user if the users ID is change in AD ? - will it change the Alias in Unity ?
TIA...Jag

That should work, an LDAP sync wont break anything since after the LDAP sync is completed you need to import the users which has already been done in your case. Why dont you use the phone number conversion option that is available to do this natively? Its right under the LDAP options.

George , thank you for the reply. We looked at the phone number conversion but the tool did not allow appropriate matches(different length extensions etc).
if a AD alias changes what affect will that have on a vm users ldap access when foe example using jabber, will the old unity account work ?
