Hi all,
I'm having a terrible time getting unity to work with languages as I would like! Here is the scenario:
1. OS Installed with 'English (United Kingdom) as the default locale.
2. Unity installed with US English, UK English, Chinese PRC and Australian English.
3. Under 'Configuration \ Phone Languages' loaded we have English UK and Chinese Hong Kong.
4. Default Phone Language is set to English UK.
When subscribers with a mailbox hit Unity they receive UK English prompts, and that is correct. When someone is forwarded to Unity they receive UK English which is also correct.
However, when a non-subscribed phone hits Unity they receive the 'Hello, Cisco Unity Messaging System' prompt in Australian English! I just can't see how this can be happening! The default language is set to UK, all call handlers are set to UK and Australian English isn't even loaded....how is this possible? Am I missing something?
The only clue I can find is an error occuring sporadically in the NT Event Log:
Cisco Unity's Phrase Server Manager experienced a serious error.
EXPLANATION:
The specified language is not loaded. Verify that the specified language is installed and that you are licensed for multiple languages.
TECHNICAL DETAILS:
Method: Phrase Server Manager::CreatePhraseServerSU
Language: ENA
Could this be the culprit? Does anyone have any suggestion as I'm dying here. Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Greg.

What you're hearing is a pre recorded _greeting_ not a prompt - so the first language you installed (which I belive is AUS english when it's selected) will copy system greetings on which includes a few files includng the voice names for example administrator, your distribution list names and the opening greeting itself - the expectation is that the customer will record their own opening greeting so not too much time is spent worrying about which of several language versions of these are copied on during install - most folks don't leave that default prompt, they want their company name on there and the like...
greetings do not change languages when you switch system languages, only prompts...
