Hi together,
I am trying to update a CUCM 11.0.1.21900-11 to Version 11.5.1.16900-16 and it fails with the following message:
07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) installFull rc[1]|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) installdb Failure [-i] 1|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) -----------------------------------|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) installdb_l2.log.err file contents:|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) 16:42:09.576 | enterprise_parameter::updateEnterpriseParameterUseSSOforRTMT *ERROR* Error -11031, Error fetching numeric attribute: [Informix][Informix ODBC Driver]Invalid cursor state.|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) 17:03:20.381 | updateStatisticsAUS *ERROR* updateStatisticsAUS 1|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) 17:03:20.381 | installFull *ERROR* Prior Cancel or Error Processing updateStatisticsAUS(DSN=ccm_super;Servername=cucm_ccm11_5_1_16900_16;RECVTIMEOUT=1800)|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) 17:08:20.774 | updateStatisticsAUS *ERROR* updateStatisticsAUS 1|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) 17:08:20.774 | installFull *ERROR* Prior Cancel or Error Processing updateStatisticsAUS(DSN=ccm_super;Servername=cucm_ccm11_5_1_16900_16;RECVTIMEOUT=1800)|<LVL::Debug> 07/04/2019 17:08:45 component_install|(CAPTURE) |<LVL::Debug>
Does anybody has a tip or an idea what I can do or where I might find a solution to that problem? Looks like something is broken i database.

This problem occurs if database changes are made during the upgrade job. Our upgrade (from 10.5 to 11.5) failed time and time again until we stopped a AXL SOAP sync that was update translation patterns in CUCM all the time. The first time we tried we only got the one error mentioned here but all other times we had an extra error what gave us the hint. See below for part of the upgrade log.

Is your CUCM installation the Export Restricted or Unrestricted version, and is the upgrade ISO the same type?
I saw another thread on this same problem which suggested running the pre-upgrade cop file for CUCM 12.5 which has extra database checks that can cause upgrades to fail.

We have the unrestricted version and I use the matching ISO file to upgrade. Already tried what was mentioned in the thread, but everything was fine and I was still not able to update.

Hi,
We are facing the same issue when we tried to upgrade CUCM/CUC/UCCX from 10.5.2.12901-1 to 12.0.1.22900-11.
The error message is the same for the three nodes.

I have open a case 07/03/2019, Cisco TAC observe that the Publisher upgrade installation failure was due to a timeout while attempting to fetch information from the local database and Asked me to proceed with the following:
o Arrange for a maintenance window during off hours.
o Power off the virtual machines.
o Restart the UCS server.
o After it comes up again, then keep the virtual machines off and turn on only the VM of the UCCX publisher.
o Proceed with the upgrade.
Unfortunatly after testing in our Lab environment, it doesn't work.

Hi,
thanks for your tip. I turned of all other servers and stopped all services on the publisher and the update the installing now and passed the critical part.
Greats

Old thread but seems to be the only place I see talking on this error. I'd a similar error, once escalated to TAC they found high IO. It was related to snapshots being created on vmware. Deleted them and the upgrade went through.
