Upgrade BE6K from 9.1 to 11.5

Hi, 

I am tasked to upgrade a BE6K (1xCUCM+1xUnityConnection) from 9.1 to 11.5. The upgrade guide shows the upgrade path is supported as a refresh upgrade or PCD Migration or PCD Upgrade. That is fine however my confusion is what are going to be the upgrade files I download from Cisco. 

If I use link here, there is no upgrade package listed;

If I use link here, I do not see any COP files related;

If I use link here, it shows " For upgrades from 11.x only. Upgrades from 10.x or earlier versions must be requested via PUT (www.cisco.com/upgrade) or purchased to obtain necessary licenses."

Never used PUT before, I guess as far as I have the correct contract number, I should be able to upgrade the license, right? If so, will there be any cost associated? Once I am done through the PUT, I should have the download links for the files required, right?

One last thing, If I installed prime collaboration deployment inside BE6K as another VM, do I still need to go through the PUT process?

In first place, you need to read:

A) Release notes

B) Upgrade guide

all of the requirements you would need, are going to be there, along with the procedure and changes required.

The product images on a 6K, are the same ones you will find in any other deployment, the only difference is you use a smaller OVA.

You'll need to ask for the upgrade kit via PUT, as to the cost, that depends on your contracts, you can get in touch with pre-sales for that.

PCD doesn't come with any images for the upgrade/migration, those have to be ordered/downloaded, and then uploaded to the PCD SFTP repository.

I actually did go through the guide and release notes, might not be fully in details...But they all just pointing file names instead of mentioning where and how to grab them...until I saw your video and the FAQ link in the video description. So I would need to use PUT to get the files.

i also wonder why you didn't do a video using PCD to do the upgrade?

Because for a regular upgrade, the only difference between doing it the old fashioned way and doing it with PCD, is that PCD can schedule the upgrade. But if you need to install PCD, configure it, upload the images, etc. that is a lot of extra work in my opinion.

If you're going to do a migration, then PCD does make it a lot easier and is the best option.
