Solved: Upgrading UCM and licensing

Anyone know if I upgrade from communications manager 6.x -> 7.x -> 8.x do I need to install license files for 7.x or can I skip that step?

You won't need the 7.x license for the incremental upgrade intermediate stop at 7. I believe the grace period is 30 days. There was a bug though (CSCtb86875) which you may run into. Even if you do hit that bug it's not too bad. Just put a call into TAC and you'll have it sorted out soon enough.
