When should IPMA Failover ?

We are running IPMA On CCM 4.2.

Their seems to be confusion over Failover and exaclty when this should happen.

Can anyone tell me when failovr should occur, what services do we need to lose or is it the whole server going off line.

Any input would be appreciated.

The IPMA service will failover if the IPMA service is down or if the Tomcat service is down as the IPMA service depends on Tomcat. IPMA can also failover to a backup CTI manager if the CTIManager service is down.
