When configuring a Directory Number (CUCM 8.5) there is an option at the very bottom of the page that lets you Associate an End User with the line.
The section is titled "Users Associated with Line"
I have not configured this for my 300+ lines. Should I associate the end users with their lines? What are the benefits of this?

Luis,
The only application I am aware of for this is when you have Cisco Unified Presence installed. When properly configured this association will send a SIP Publish message to the CUPS server causing the user's status to update to "On the Phone". This is how CUPS dynamically adjusts the user's status to reflect their phone usage.

I do have CUPS and I'm piloting Jabber. Thanks for the heads up. I tested both scenarios and you are 100% correct! 5 Stars for you!
