Windows 2003 server with Exchange 2000

After going through CCO i noticed that Windows 2003 server running on a Unity server only works with Exchange 2003. Is this correct? please confirm.

Is there any way to have Win 2003 server talking with Exchange 2000? or is just not supported full stop.?

I was thinking of upgrading exchange from 2000 to 2003 anyways.

please shed some light.

Microsoft doesn't support the Exchange 2000 System Manager on Windows 2003. We actually tried to get them to support it for us and they said no. Since the Exchange 2000 System Manager can't be installed on Windows 2003 we can't support Exchange 2000 as the partner Exchange server on Windows 2003.
