Windows XP SP2 is now qualified as an optional service pack on subscriber workstations with Unity 4.0(4) and ViewMail for Outlook (VMO) 4.0(4). IBM has found issues with their DUC client for Notes and it is not supported at this time with Windows XP SP2.
For Unity with Exchange; if SP2 is applied and the code for Unity and VMO has not been upgraded to 4.0(4) Telephony Record and Playback (TRaP) will fail with VMO.
The failure occurs because Windows XP SP2 comes with a built-in firewall that blocks TCP port 135. With VMO TraP playback, Unity makes a DCOM callback to Outlook to fetch the audio stream. Since DCOM needs port TCP 135 to establish a connection, the callback fails.
To overcome this issue, Cisco redesigned TRaP in 4.0(4) to fetch the audio stream from Exchange, using the message ID, instead of from Outlook. For TRaP record, the stream is now recorded on the Unity server, instead of writing to an Outlook stream. The server stream is then copied over to the client when recording is complete.
If you find yourself in a situation where you need to workaround the issue with Unity 4.0(3) and older versions, configure the Personal Firewall in Windows XP SP2 to allow traffic to port 135 and to the AvTrapConnectionHolderSvr.exe process.
More information regarding the Lotus Notes issue will be posted when IBM updates Cisco.
Thanks,
Keith

You may be hitting CSCef57086:
Symptom:
When using the phone as the playback/recording device to play/record a voice mail using Notes/DUCS in WinXP SP2 with the friewall disabled, the phone rings and when the phone is answered the status becomes idle.
Condition:
WinXP SP2
Workaround:
TRaP uses anonymous access in Lotus Notes while TRaP uses NTML authentication for setting up DCOM security
contexts in VMO/Outlook. In WinXP SP2, the anonymous logon for remote access is turned off by default. The
following steps need to be performed to turn on anonymous logon for remote access for TRaP to work in Lotus Notes. With the anonymous logon for remote access turned on, TRaP would work with either XP SP2 firewall is disabled or enabled.
Steps to turn on anonymous logon for remote access:
1. Go to Control Panel-> Administrative Tools
2. Select Local Security Settings->Local Policies->Security Options
3. Select DCOM: Machine Access Restrictions in Security Descriptor Definition Language (SDDL) Syntax
4. Click on "Edit Security" in "DCOM: Machine Access Restrictions in Security Descriptor Definition
Language (SDDL) Syntax" window
5. In the "Access Permission" window, highlight "Anonymous Logon" and mark "Remote Access" under "Allow" as
enabled, then click OK to exit
6. Restart computer

Couldn't fix the 90sec delay in XP-SP2 machine with your workaround.
The Unity doc shows WinXP is campatible in Unity with Domino but no description for XP-SP2.
Any update the WinXP-SP2 campatability in Unity with Domino ?
