Hi All,
We have an inter-domain federation within our enterprise for IM&P and Lync 2010
Lync presence domain = example.com.au
IM&P presence domain = cups.example.com.au
We have static routes on IM&P for example.com.au, pointing to Lync 2010.
We use the Directory URI IMAddress Schema.
If an administrator mistakenly enables "Unified CM IM and Presence" for user with the example.com.au URI in CUCM, IM&P will automatically create a system-managed domain for example.com.au, which in turn breaks the inter-domain federation.
IM&P documentation says that the system checks this nightly, which is a long time for the federation to be broken.
Just wondering if anyone knows a way to force the discovery of system managed presence domains (mainly to remove a domain from System-managed to Administrator managed)?.
Thanks
Kent

Hi Kent,
You can try restarting the Cisco SYnc Agent service to force the check.
If that does not work
Go to Service Parameter on CUP server under Cisco Sync agent Service which is now called
IM and Presence Domains Mode and set to Manual. Restart Sync Agent and check if you are able to delete the domain. Set it back to default after deleting teh domain.
Let me know if thsi works.

Thanks Swathi.
Next time the issue occurs, I'll let you know whether you suggestion worked.

worked.
1. disable user with the specific domain for IMP
2. Restart Cisco Sync Service on IMP Server
3. System Managed Domain changed to Administrative Managed Domains
4. Remove Domain from Admin Managed Domain
5. Done.

Don't you have to restart some services for it to "work" though? XCP Router and some others? Removing it from the managed list is only the first step. Federation won't work until services have been restarted.
