restarting IIS

CAn IIS be restarted without taking down Unity?

Hi -
Yes it can. Unity will still answer calls. You can do this the easy way by going to a command prompt on the Unity server and entering IISRESET. This command will shutdown IIS and its dependent services, SMTP, NNTP, and W3SVC. It will also restart these services. The only thing you or your customers won't be able to do is access Unity Assistant or SA web pages while IIS is down. You can check in the application event/system event logs for the startup messages. And, of course, I always do another test after doing this :-)
