Unity Call Handler and Caller ID Options With Call Recipient

We are building about 20 call handlers with prompts and caller input that will be tied to 20 different 800 numbers. Within all call handlers, there will be an option to transfer the call to a certain group of people. When that group answers the call, we want the Line text, or caller ID to display which 800 number the caller initially dialed along with a possible acronym.

 

One thought I have is to create a hunt pilot and line group for each call handler and have Unity point to those for each handler and add the group of people receiving the calls a part of each line group. I'm just not sure if that will work or if it's the best way to get this done.

 

Please advise what we can do to get this working.

Hi,

Your scenario will work with Hunt Group and Hunt Pilot feature. On Hunt Pilot, configure Alerting Name and ASCII Alerting Name as your 1800 number for identification, for example 1800-222-3333 (Finance Dept).

When someone calls this number, you can route this from Unity Connection Call Handler to CUCM Hunt Pilot. On the phone display it will look like this:

There may be other options/solutions but this one works fine.
