C210 M2 standalone server processor upgrade

Good afternoon, forum. Does anyone know if it's possible to install Intel Xeon 7000 series processors in the subject server? I'd like to squeeze a few more cores in said server.

Many thanks!

Greetings.

Take a peek a  couple of sample specs from the E-5600 and E-7000 series.

They use different socket type, different power consumption, # of DIMM channels, bus speeds, etc,etc..

I think going rogue might end up with a 'brick' for this particular scenario ;)

Didn't hurt to ask though, as other's may be wondering the same..

Thanks,

Kirk...

Chipset on those only allows  E-5500/E-5600, x5500,x5600 series procs.

I believe the C210 M2 is end of service/HW support as of November 2017.

Thanks,

Kirk

Hi again, Kirk. Yeah, I've seen the spec sheet you mentioned. I was merely interested in knowing if anyone here had any success at "going rouge" by installing a non-standard processor.
