Hi All,
With the 6248's, is it possible to connect a C210 M2 directly to one of the ports or does it still need a Nexus 2k?
Thanks
Kassim

Kassim,
We still need Fabric Extender for rack servers to be managed by UCSM.

Hi Padma,
Thanks for the reply.
If i dont want UCSM to manage it but use it primarily as a "storage server" with windows or a linux distro, would i still need the fabric extender or can i just use the appliance ports for that?
Thanks
Kassim

Kassim,
This is similar to this thread
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2135410?tstart=0
If we re-configure UCS rack server to function as storage server and configure FI port as appliance port, it might work but is not officially supported.

Thanks Padma,
i will read up on that thread. Does it apply to both 6100 & 6200 FI's?

Hello Kassim,
Yes, it applies to both 6100 and 6200 FI models.
